Enjoy the Wedding Day Journey!

Planning a wedding can be stressful. Amidst the appointments, decisions, plans, and nervous expectations remember to have fun! Here are a few tips on how to do that.

  1. Take time to date. Plan a once a week quiet dinner where you can TALK about, your hopes, dreams, and the future as well as the wedding. Your growing love relationship is so much more important then the wedding event itself. Remember you can go to “taste testing’s” with caterers you want to use!                It’s a lot of fun to try their specialties!

  2. Decrease your stress. Trust the venues approved vendor list “proven their worth. No reason to chance a mistake from an Internet search; a caterer who comes late, a DJ that “hangs” on a microphone, a photographer who misses photo opportunities or a dry cake. A short list of good vendors makes the planning process so much easier.

  3. Consider “turning off” Pinterest – to many good ideas can sometimes overwhelm you; can create indecisiveness. Cut your selection down to a few good choices.

  4. Create/Design some of the wedding décor together. Its fun to work together towards a common goal, you can create something together you are both proud of and have fun doing it!

  5. Take some dance lessons to practice your first dance. Create a fun dance! Something that will make your guests smile and you will remember forever.

  6. Enjoy listening to different kinds of music together as you choose your playlist. Take a drive and sing the songs together and “rate” them 1-10.  Your love song playlist will rekindle you love over and over for years.

  7. Read a book about marriage together and discuss the points and watch your love mature.

  8. Do a “work project” together for someone in need. Together share the joy of giving.

  9. Take care of your health so you feel good during the process. Take a hike, join the YMCA; workout together or take a brisk walk at sunset. Exercise always makes us feel better, and can help us make better decisions with a clear head and better attitude.

  10. Stop to “smell the roses” enjoy a cup of coffee as you talk about what you have to be thankful for. Notice the sweet things in life-be grateful!

Smile and enjoy every moment of the journey!
